Hi! I’m Tal and I’m a Counselling Psychologist.
Can you tell me a bit about your background?
I have over 15 years of clinical experience supporting children, young people, and families. My career has been focused on working within major multidisciplinary clinics and public health services internationally. I bring extensive experience in neurodiversity and early years development, having worked for many years in specialised national centres dedicated to autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and developmental support.
Throughout my professional journey outside the UK, I have held roles as both a clinician and a program coordinator, collaborating closely with healthcare professionals and educators to provide holistic, evidence-based care. I am passionate about understanding each person’s unique story and supporting them through the complexities of developmental and emotional challenges.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is a space for us to get to know one another at your own pace. My priority is to create a warm, non-judgmental, and safe environment where you (or you and your child) feel heard and understood. We will spend time exploring what has brought you to therapy, your hopes for the process, and the values that are important to you.
Whether we are working with a young child through play or engaging in structured conversations with a young adult, the first meeting is about building a connection and thinking together about how our sessions can best support your journey.
What therapies do you use and what kind of difficulties do you help people with?
I take an integrative and person-centred approach, tailoring the therapeutic model to the specific needs of the individual or family. I draw on several evidence-based modalities, including:
- CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): Supporting older children and young adults with anxiety, mood difficulties, and social challenges.
- Dyadic & Parent-Child Interventions: Strengthening the bond between parents and young children and supporting developmental milestones (using models like DIR and ESDM).
- Trauma-Informed Practice: Helping individuals process stressors and build resilience.
- Parental Guidance: Offering a reflective space for parents to navigate the unique journey of raising a neurodivergent child.
I specialise in supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental differences (ASD, ADHD), emotional regulation, and family relationship dynamics.
What are your interests outside of psychology?
Outside of my clinical work, I am a yoga enthusiast and find that it helps me maintain balance and mindfulness. I also love cooking and exploring new recipes, as well as spending quality time with my family.
