Hi, I’m Ciara and I am an Assistant Psychologist.

Ciara Robertson
Assistant Psychologist
Can you tell me a little bit about your background?
Hey, I’m Ciara! I’m an Assistant Psychologist at The Oak Tree Practice. I have always been fascinated by psychology and the unseen complexities of individual experiences, thoughts and emotions.
I particularly enjoy connecting with people and building a warm, safe, and compassionate space. Supporting people to navigate challenges feels important and meaningful, so I really enjoy what I do.
I’ve completed an undergraduate psychology degree with a clinical placement year at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. I have also worked as a research assistant, support worker, call taker & supervisor at a mental health charity crisis line. Across these roles, my goal has always been to make people feel understood and to help them cope with the challenges life brings.
I deliver CBT to people experiencing common mental health difficulties such as anxiety and depression. I’m drawn to working with children and younger people, because these stages of life bring such opportunities for growth and change. But I enjoy adapting to each individual’s needs.
I also work on service development, neurodiversity assessments, as well as working alongside our practice manager to triage people and find the right psychologist for them.
What are your interests outside of psychology?
Aside from my work, I enjoy spending time at the gym, watching live music, exploring new restaurants, and binge watching awful reality TV with my friends! I love to travel and enjoy channeling my creativity into filming and editing videos of my trips as well as everyday moments, as a way to capture and appreciate them.
