Post-Diagnostic Support: Mental Health and Neurodiversity (ADHD and Autism)
What Is Post-Diagnostic Support?
Receiving a diagnosis—whether ADHD, autism or a mental health condition—can bring clarity, but also new questions. Post-diagnostic support helps you understand what your diagnosis means for you and how to move forward with confidence.
At The Oak Tree Practice, we support people both with and without a formal diagnosis. You might simply want to understand yourself better, explore your mental health, or learn more about your neurodiversity. We offer tailored support for ADHD and autism, as well as general mental health concerns.
What Is Our Approach?
We take a neuro-affirming approach, recognising that every brain works differently.
Post-diagnostic support is about embracing your strengths, understanding your challenges, and making sense of how your neurodiversity shows up in daily life.
Together, we’ll explore your experiences, help you build self-understanding, and
develop practical strategies to support your wellbeing—whether that’s at home, work, school, or in relationships. Our sessions are always adapted to your age, goals, and needs, ensuring that the support you receive truly fits you.
What Might Support Look Like?
Your journey will be unique, but post-diagnostic support often includes:
Understanding your diagnosis and how it fits into your life story
Developing coping strategies for daily challenges and emotions
Building confidence and self-compassion
Connecting with community and resources
Reflecting on progress and planning next steps
Whether you’re newly diagnosed or just starting to explore your neurodiversity, we’re here to help you make sense of things and move forward in a way that feels right for you.
